School Improvement Plan for Student Achievement & Wellness (SIPSAW)
Our School Improvement Plan for Student Achievement & Wellness (SIPSAW) is what guides us and keeps us focused on the education that is important for students.

Our school is committed to increasing student achievement in the areas of numeracy and literacy.  Below you will find links to our SIPSAW in both of these areas.  If you have questions regarding either of these documents, please contact the school.  Our teachers are engaged in Professional Learning Teams that meet monthly to discuss classroom plans, student learning and next steps to improve student achievement.   The most important work is done in the classrooms, at the students' desks between these meetings.

Here at Toniata, we believe that we have a "learning practice" and a "teaching practice."  We must first leverage our learning practice in order to influence our teaching practice.

Our numeracy focus is on the fundamentals of math, specifically, using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division strategies efficiently to solve problems (knowledge, thinking, application).

Our literacy focus is on letter sound and recognition in early primary and strengthening inferring skills for our junior students.
